What is a certificate of origin?
A guarantee of origin shows where, when and with which technology electricity was generated.
A guarantee of origin (GO) is issued for every kilowatt-hour of electricity generated. In Switzerland, Pronovo is the accredited certification body. A GO is separate from the physical flow of electricity and can be traded as an independent certificate.
