Solar & self-generated electricity
Solar power for your home
With a solar installation on your own roof, you use electricity directly on site. BKW supports private customers with planning, implementation, storage and optimisation of self-consumption.
Your solar project
Plan something new or improve what already exists?
The next step depends on whether you are looking for information, planning a system or already producing solar power.
Start with the basics or system planning. If you already have a solar installation, you can find out about self-consumption, monitoring and electricity sharing.
Coordinating production and consumptionA solar installation generates electricity from sunlight. With storage and the control of consumers such as a heat pump or charging station, you can optimise the use of your solar power. Which addition is suitable depends on your building, your installation and your consumption.

Understanding the basics
Make better use of existing solar power
A storage system makes self-generated solar power available for use later as well. With a suitable control system, you can align consumers such as a heat pump or charging station with your solar production. Monitoring production and consumption helps you to better assess usage. If you would like to share electricity with others, different requirements apply depending on the ZEV, vZEV or LEG. The “Sharing electricity” overview takes you to the models.
